ACHTUNG Neue AuPair Regelunge ab 1. Jänner für Österreich
Ab Anfang 2009 wird für Au-pair-Kräfte erstmals ein Mindestlohn gelten. Den hat jetzt auf Antrag der Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft vida das Bundeseinigungsamt mit 357 Euro im Monat, und zwar 15 Mal im Jahr, festgesetzt. Ebenso gibt es künftig für Au-pairs österreichweit einheitliche Arbeitszeiten und eine Unfallversicherung. Au-pair Kräfte sind Jugendliche, die gegen Verpflegung, Unterkunft und einen gewissen Lohn bei einer Gastfamilie sind, sich oft um die Kinder kümmern und im Gegenzug Sprache und Kultur des Gastlandes kennenlernen. Nun gibt es für sie österreichweit einheitliche Arbeitszeiten und eine Unfallversicherung. Die Gewerkschaft sieht das als gelungene Maßnahme, um diese Art von Beschäftigungsverhältnis auf rechtlich einwandfreie Basis zu stellen.
357 Euro Mindestlohn pro Monat
Der Mindestlohn für Au-pair-Kräfte beträgt ab dem nächsten Jahr 357 Euro im Monat, und zwar 15 Mal im Jahr. Dazu müssen Wohnung und Verpflegung gestellt werden, erklärt Willibald Steinkellner von der zuständigen Gewerkschaft vida: "Die Regelung beinhaltet, dass eine Au-pair-Kraft 20 Stunden in der Woche beschäftigt ist, dafür 357 Euro bekommt, sie muss einen Deutsch-Kurs besuchen, und von diesem Deutsch-Kurs müssen 50 Prozent der Kosten von der Gastfamilie übernommen werden."
Keine Kranken- und Pensionsversicherungsbeiträge
Bisher hat sich der Lohn für Au-pairs nach den in jedem Bundesland unterschiedlichen Tarifen für Haushalts-Beschäftigte gerichtet. Nach einem Urteil des Verwaltungsgerichtshofes aus dem Jahr 2005 war eine Neuregelung nötig. Der Mindestlohn liegt nun genau an der Geringfügigkeitsgrenze. Das heißt, es werden keine Kranken- und Pensionsversicherungsbeiträge fällig
Unfallversicherung zahlt Beschäftiger-Familie
Die Gastfamilie muss aber für die Unfallversicherung aufkommen: "Die Beschäftiger-Familie muss die Au-pair-Kraft spätestens zwei Wochen vor Antritt der Beschäftigung bei der Regionalstelle des Arbeitsmarktservice melden und auch bei der Sozialversicherung in Form der Unfallversicherung versichern", sagt Gewerkschafter Willibald Steinkellner.
Heuer 1.900 Au-pairs gemeldet
Genaue Zahlen darüber, wie viele Au-pair-Kräfte in Österreich tätig sind, fehlen - denn bisher mussten nur die aus Nicht-EU-Ländern gemeldet werden, das waren bisher 1.900 im heurigen Jahr. Der Au-Pair-Mindestlohn gilt ab 1.Jänner 2009.

Identische Schreiben in dieser Art mit verschiedenen Familiennamen gingen an AuPairs, die sich im Internet bei Familien in den USA meldeten.
Hier wird der AuPair vorgespielt, dass sie 700 USD an eine Firma für die "travelling documents" 
zu zahlen sind. Die Fima ist: "and they are affiliated to K L M airways and approved by the commonwealth body and the American government

Jeder Zahlungsaufforderung durch eine Gastfamilie ist unseriös und läßt Betrug vermuten. Jede Zahlungsaufforderung an einer "Consulting-Firma" ist BETRUG. Für eine Aupair enststehen diese Kosten nicht.

Wiederholt taucht immer wieder eine englische AuPair auf, die angeblich in Afrika ist. Auch hier geht es letztendlich nur darum, Flugkosten zu bekommen. Wir haben das Profil heute auf SCAM gestellt und zeigen Ihnen hier den gefälschten Pass der angeblichen AuPair. Die Fälschung ist plump und es werden immer wieder andere Namen eingesetzt.
Fordern Sie prinzipiell eine Passkopie an und melden Sie uns ggf. Ihren Verdacht.

I did not respond to you because when i went to pay the flight ticket, i encountered some difficulties
So when paying the ticket they made me to understand a couple of things.So i did not pay it due to some reasons. I could have informed you earlier than now if it were not for the vaccinations problems i encountered when paying the flight ticket.The flight is really very cheap.When i collected the money that Mr Alfred left for my flight before traveling and went to the flight agency this morning to buy the ticket, i was informed that there are certain vaccines that are obligatory for all persons who have been in Cameroon for more than 4 months .If anyone is not current on these vaccines,then he or she most take these vaccines and there is also a medical check up that needs to be done for every one leaving the country.I am told that there are some of these vaccines which i never took them which I must take them.I must also do a medical check up.It does not mean that i have any of these diseases.It is just a measure that has been put in place by the Ministry of Public health and executed by the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority,CCAA. '
Any person who has been here for more than four months must take these vaccines before departure.
When i was informed as such at the flight agency,i then decided to take the vaccines immediately with the money he gave me while intending to inform you later.I don't know if i took the wrong decision but i did so because i thought that time is against us for this flight.
The vaccines all cost 175.45 Euro. I began taking the vaccines these morning at the vaccination center immediately i was informed.I took some of the vaccines and the rest will be taken later on tomorrow. Immediately i finish with the vaccines and collect my vaccination card,i shall then head to the flight agency and present it in order to buy my flight ticket.I also did the medical check up and will collect all the results tomorrow. Please understand with me that i never knew about these vaccines thing. If i did,i would have informed you earlier. Because to my knowledge when i was coming here i knew i had taken all the vaccines,till when i went to the flight agency and was told that i did not take all of it. I do not intend to be any financial liability on you.Now that i have already begun taking the vaccines and used 175.45 Euro from the flight money,i will solicit that you help me out with these amount so that i should pay the flight ticket today or tomorrow,I am asking you to borrow me these amount and you will have to deduct it from my allowance. Please,i would have informed you before taking the decision but i was just confident in myself and in you to improvise in order to save time.So i took some of the vaccines these morning and i will be done with the rest latter on tomorrow.
